Nigerian defender Stephen Eze joins Kazakhstan club

Former Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) player Stephen Eze has joined Kazakhstan top division club Tobol Kostanay on a free transfer.

The central back's contract with Bulgarian club Lokomotiv Plovdiv expired with the outfit unwilling to renew.

He joined Plovdiv on 18 January 2018 on a two-year contract.

The 25-year-old made 57 appearances and scored three goals for Locomotiv Plovdiv and won the Bulgarian Cup with the club.

He has previously played for top clubs like Lobi Stars, Sunshine Stars, FC Ifeanyubah and Kano Pillars in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Eze has represented Nigeria 13 times and was part of the home-based Super Eagles team that finished third at the 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco.
