After three wins and three draws in six games across all competitions this month, there is new hope among Arsenal fans whenever Mikel Arteta’s name is mentioned.
But now, with the ongoing transfer window and madness, here is an update on how things are with the English outfit.
Aubameyang transfer boost
There were reports that Auba was wanted by Barcelona, but Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has delivered a transfer admission by confirming the club's interest in Valencia's Rodrigo.
"We don't talk about players from other teams. But [Rodrigo's] name is on the table of the coaches," Bartomeu confirmed, as per the Independent. "And a replacement will arrive.
"I do not know whether it will be from Barcelona B or from outside [the club]. I like many players."
This might mean that Arsenal will keep their top scorer, maybe until the summer.
Mustafi injury update
Defender Shkodran Mustafi has spoken after his injury on Monday, in Arsenal’s 2-1 win at Bournemouth.
He sent a message to Arsenal fans in an Instagram post saying: "Through to the next round of the @emiratesfacup. I really appreciated your support through all the game against @officialafcb last night.
"I'll be back soon #SM20".
New defender deal
After Mustafi’s injury, the Gunners went to the market to find a new defender, and there’s talk of a deal for Shakhtar Donetsk's Mykola Matviyenko being close.
Newspaper Zbirna is reporting that an agreement has been reached with Shakhtar Donetsk for the transfer of the Ukraine international before deadline day this week.
Of course, Pablo Mari is also being linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium and it would appear that it's going to be between the aforementioned duo.
