Orlando Pirates have scooped Stellenbosch FC central midfielder Nkanyiso Zungu.
The surprise move has been confirmed by Stellenbosch FC coach Steve Barker via Soccer Laduma today.
“Yeah, it's true... Nkanyiso is going to Pirates, and we really wish him well there. He's been great for us, and we hope he can have a good career after leaving,” Barker told the publication today.
“It was a deal that suited everybody really, but one day we hope to get to a point when we won't have to lose our best players to bigger clubs,” added Barker.
The 24-year-old left footer was shortly announced by Pirates via social media a few minutes ago.
"Orlando Pirates is delighted to announce the signing of Nkanyiso Zungu from Stellenbosch FC. With the transfer deadline fast approaching , club management has moved swiftly to bolster the midfield department by signing the 23 year old," wrote the club.
“I am happy to be here and I look forward to a successful stay at the club,” Zungu added.
