Former England international Paul Robinson insists that Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor is currently in his best form for the Scottish Premiership champions.
In an interview with Football Insider, Robinson claims that the 26-year-old has gone above and beyond; more than he could have expected and that the Scotland international deserves more praise than he is currently being given.
McGregor scored in the Hoops' 4-0 thriller against Motherwell last week and has taken his tally to nine goals and nine assists this season.
“He’s been good this year,” he told Football Insider.
“I think he has the same amount of assists as he has goals.
“I think his work rate, his attacking threat that he carries as well, I think he’s been a real outstanding player for them this season.
“He’s been an ever-present for the past three or four seasons at Celtic, but I think this is probably his best season in a Celtic shirt in terms of what he’s doing for the team as a whole.”
The 26-year-old has made 25 appearances for Celtic this season and playing full 90minutes matches in 23 matches.
He has also provided six assists in his last six league games including a brace leading up to his goal against Motherwell.
