Injury update: When Arsenal's injured players are expected back

Arsenal had a warm-weather training camp in Dubai during the PL winter break and this was a chance for new signings Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari to meet and train with their new teammates, and, for their injured players to get ahead on their fitness.

Now, with the break over and the Gunners up for the task against Newcastle on Sunday, a top-four finish and a return to the Champions League in 2020/21 is their top priority.

But, who is ready and who will not be available?

Here is the latest Arsenal injury news and expected return dates

Calum Chambers: the defender has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee and has undergone surgery, meaning that he will be out of action for a period of between six to nine months.

Kieran Tierney: he has since returned to training with the squad during their week in Dubai, with head of fitness Shad Forsythe confirming the Scotsman is still restricted to non-contact training.

Sead Kolasinac: the defender could make his return against Newcastle after taking part in the warm weather training camp in Dubai over the winter break.

Cedric Soares: the full-back is expected to be out for around three weeks, meaning that he will have to wait a little bit longer to make his Arsenal debut.

Alexandre Lacazette and Mesut Ozil were also substituted during the 0-0 draw against Burnley before the winter break, but that was most likely for tactical reasons rather than being injury-related.

Meanwhile, January signing Pablo Mari could be in line for his debut after the winter break but has not played since Flamengo's Club World Cup defeat vs Liverpool back in December.

The Gunners are 10th on the log and 10 points off fourth-placed Chelsea.
