Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce is reportedly eager to bolster his attacking department ahead of the European summer transfer window.
According to a report in The Chronicle, Newcastle are currently monitoring Brentford striker Ollie Watkins' movements in hopes of securing a move.
The Magpies are also believed to be interested in another Brentford striker, Said Benhrama as Bruce looks to strengthen his squad and improve their standings on the Premier League table.
Watkins has been outstanding in the Championship this season and there a massive possibility that he could be what the St James' Park outfit needs at this point.
The 24-year-old has scored 20 goals and provided three assists for The Bees this season and his ability to hold the ball up is one of the strong points in his game.
“It's a big comparison so I don't want to go down that route but, in a way, I've mentioned it now," manager Thomas Frank said to the Wandsworth Guardian.
"He's like a Cristiano Ronaldo-type, that he can play as a nine or he can play to the side, or he can play as a 10, but because he's so versatile he has abilities you can benefit off in all positions.
"Then it's about getting the best out of him and the team.”
