CONFIRMED: Inter v Ludogorets to be played behind closed doors after coronavirus scare

The UEFA Europa League tie between hosts Inter Milan and Ludogorets at the San Siro Stadium will be played behind closed doors UEFA has confirmed.

The decision has been taken by the governing body due to concerns over the coronavirus outbreak in Italy with two people having died in the country while reports say dozens more have tested positive.

A statement on Inter’s website noted: “FC Internazionale Milano announces that, in accordance with the requirements of the health authorities in the Region of Lombardy and the Municipality of Milan and with the agreement of UEFA, the second-leg clash between Inter and Ludogorets at the round of 32 stage of the Europa League will take place behind closed doors at 21:00 CET on Thursday 27 February at San Siro.”

The virus forced the postponement of Serie A games over the weekend with Inter's clash with Sampdoria being one of them.

Inter go into the game with an upper hand after seeing their opponents 2-0 in the first leg thanks to goals from Christian Eriksen and Romelu Lukaku.
