Frank Lampard skippered Chelsea to an improbable Champions League final win against Bayern Munich almost eight years ago in a dramatic penalty shootout.
Now, he's in the Blues dugout as boss with the teams meeting for the first time since that final in Munich. Here's how we expect the sides to line up, with Chelsea needing to be wary of Bayern's red-hot attack.
🔵 Likely Chelsea XI (3-4-2-1):
Caballero; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; James, Jorginho, Kovacic, Alonso; Mount, Willian; Giroud
French World Cup winner Olivier Giroud impressed on his recall to the side against Tottenham on the weekend, rifling in the opener and he should keep his place. Willian's extra experience and know-how in the big matches might see him preferred to Ross Barkley, who impressed against Spurs, in an attacking midfield role alongside Mason Mount.
☄️ Likely Bayern XI (4-2-3-1):
Neuer; Pavard, Hernandez, Alaba, Davies; Kimmich, Thiago; Koman, Müller, Gnabry; Lewandowski
Jerome Boateng is likely to drop out with Lucas Hernandez back to full fitness. Central defensive duo Javi Martinez and Niklas Süle are likely to miss out through injury which makes David Alaba's conversion to centre back all the more convenient for Bayern. Ex-Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry scored four times away to Tottenham in the group stages and has scored three Bundesliga goals in his last two matches. The same goes for goal-machine Robert Lewandowski, who has 38 goals in 32 matches across all competitions in 2019/20.
With so much attacking talent on display, you'd be silly to miss this.
