Senegal Football Federation (FSF) has said that they are not aware that Lions of Teranga assistant coach Regis Bogaert has joined French side Amiens.
French newspaper L'Equippe on Tuesday reported that Bogaert joined the struggling Ligue 1 side as the mental coach. The Frenchman has deputised Aliou Cisse at the national team for close to five years and FSF was surprised that he has left without informing them.
The revelation happened when Senegalese press service APS asked the national technical director Mayacine Mar for his comment on the development.
"You're the one telling me, I'm not aware of it," he said.
The 69-year-old Bogaert joined Lions of Teranga in July 2016 from French lower division SC Feignes. He had first served as Senegal coach between January 2012 and 2014. He has also handled French sides ES Wasquehal, US Lesquin and LOSC Lille U19.
Amiens is currently in 19th position on the Ligue 1 table with 23 and is flirting with relegation with ten matches to go. The league is currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
