πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬ Relegation threatened Tooro United turn to Lonyesi for survival

Uganda Premier League bottom club Tooro United have approached Angelo Lonyesi as a replacement for the sacked Muhammed Kisekka.

Ugandan football news website Kawowo Sports reports that Lonyesi has been closely monitoring the club's progress and was in the stands during their matches as well as attending their training sessions.

It is understood that he opened talks with the club way before Kisekka and his assistant Samuel Ssenyange were sacked for poor performance.

Lonyesi has been without a club since being sacked by second division side Kansai Plascon for poor performance in September.

Tooro are currently propping the league table with 22 games after 25 matches and face a fight of their life to save the imminent chop with five matches to go.

If confirmed, Lonyesi will have to fashion results when they meet Vipers and Bright Stars at home before travelling to Mbarara City, Busoga United and BUL.

Football activities in Uganda have been suspended for at least a month as the country grapples with the deadly coronavirus pandemic. Health authorities have confirmed at least eight cases of infections in the country.
