The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has embarked on strengthening of its governance structures by creating a new Ethics and Disciplinary Committee.
In a statement published on its website, FUFA observed that committee was necessary for building confidence in the judicial system.
["We]observed that the modern game is faced with vices that urgently need a very agile legal regime to administer justice," the statement read.
The new Ethics and Disciplinary Committee will be headed by Dr Azaah Taibu assisted by Kaggwa Yusuf. Their mandate will be to direct judicial processes at FUFA ensuring fast and fair arbitration.
Some of the vices the committee will be tackling include gaining an unfair advantage, bringing football into disrepute, use of banned Substances, discrimination and defamation, match-fixing among others.
The federation also named Mutabazi Deo as the chairman of Competitions Disciplinary Panel and he will be assisted by Kabwimukya George. Serunjoji Robert will be a member of the committee.
The Investigatory Chamber will be led by Musa Kabega, assisted by Hilal Hussein and Twiine Charles will join as a member.
On the adjudicatory chamber, Darius Ruta will be the chairman and deputised by Hudson Katumba with Hussein Lwembawo, Nasser Sserunjoji and Kasalirwe Edrisa being members.
In the dispute resolution chamber, Peter Emojong is the chairman assisted by Andy Lule with Dan Obote, Nobert Kazibwe and Natabi Harriet are the members.
Appealscommitee will have Nabuuso Diana as the chairperson deputised by Nuru Muhammed with Sabiti Muwanga, Lajan Livingstone and Mark Namanya as members.
