πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦πŸ‡βœˆοΈ Dutch keeper leaves Stellenbosch FC

Stellenbosch FC goalkeeper Boy De Jong has said goodbye to the Absa Premiership rookies citing coronavirus-related issues.

As reported here on Futaa on 19 July last year, Stellies signed the 25-year-old Dutchman at the back of several spells with Eredivisie sides like PEC Zwolle and Anderlecht in the Belgian premier division.

Stellenbosch announced on social media today that De Jong has decided to end his stay in the Western Cape in order to attend to his family against surviving the Covid-19 virus that is causing havoc around Europe.

“We bid Boy De Jong farewell today after he has decided to return to Holland Flag of Netherlands amidst the COVID-19 pandemic to protect his family,” said the club.

“We thank you for the incredible service to the club and all that you have contributed. Full Video available on Instagram.”

De Jong made 18 appearances before losing the number one position to Lee Langeveldt over the past two months.
