The Coronavirus pandemic forced Ligue 1 to end the season on Thursday to crown PSG as champions while also relegating two other clubs.
As reported here on Futaa yesterday, the league was originally suspended in March with 10 games remaining. Thursday's decision meant two clubs will be dropping down to the Ligue 2 division: Amiens and Toulouse.
The French League board (LFP) used a performance index: points accumulated per match against head-to-head record.
So who are African players who play for the relegated Amiens and Toulouse?
- Boris Essele (Cameroon)
- Nicholas Opoku (Ghana)
- Bongani Zungu (South Africa)
- Chadrac Akolo (Congo)
- Moussa Konaté (Senegal).
- Issiaga Sylla (Guinea)
- Ibrahim Sangaré (Ivory Coast)
- Stéphane Zobo (Cameroon).
Meanwhile, Amiens have confirmed a decision to appeal the decision for what could be a complicated court battle with ligue 1.
