English Premier League side Southampton are reportedly working on a bid to approach Mainz 05 with as they look to sign Ghanaian winger Issah Abbas.
Abbas was sent out on a season-long to Dutch Eredivisie side FC Utrecht at the start of the 2019/20 season and he has proven to be a rising star in the making.
The 21-year-old has returned to his parent club Mainz as the Eredivisie made the decision to call off their league due to the coronavirus pandemic and he will be looking to break into the first season.
However, new reports claim that Southampton have registered their interest in the Ghanaian and will be looking to open talks with Mainz in a bid to secure his signature.
Abbas scored eight goals and provided two assists from a total of 22 appearances across all competitions for FC Utrecht.
