Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama and his Montreal Impact team returned to training on Tuesday ahead of a potential resumption of America’s Major League Soccer.
In posts across all their social media handles, Montreal showed pictures of players arriving in training together with a video that gave a glimpse of how the first day went with head coach Thierry Henry being in charge of the session.
Wanyama joined the club in March this year after being put on the cold by Tottenham Hotspur and according to him in an interview earlier in the month, it was a decision arrived at since he wanted to enjoy his football again.
“There were offers from Celtic and some teams in France but I think they (Spurs) were asking for some fee that scared them away. My agent told me that the MLS transfer period wasn’t over then and asked if I would want a move. I wanted to enjoy my football again and took the chance,” Wanyama told MadgoatTv.
The MLS was suspended after only two games in the season with Wanyama only appearing in one; the team currently occupying the second spot with four points just two points below leaders Atlanta United.
