Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho wants to return to the Premier League according to his agent Kia Joorabchian.
In an interview with ESPN, Joorabchian admitted that the former Liverpool man has a desire to return to England but wasn’t sure about the timing.
“He has a desire to come back to the Premier League at some point. It may not happen this year, it may happen this year, we don’t know. We really have not discussed anything for now,” he said.
The news comes weeks after Bayern Munich through chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said they were not going to trigger the clause on the player’s contract on the purchase option.
“The option expired and we haven’t activated it. We’re going to plan our squad for next season and we’ll see if he still has a role to play with us or not,” Rummenigge said.
The decision not to sign Coutinho permanently from Barcelona has seen the player getting linked with a series of clubs with Europe with Chelsea FC being the frontrunner for his signature.
There have been reports that Bayern Munich might have the player on another loan deal with his parent club Barcelona not keen in welcoming him back.
The 27-year-old has scored eight goals and provided six assists in 22 Bundesliga matches for Bayern this season.
