Chinese international Wu Lei has reportedly been in talks with Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers ahead of a possible move in the summer.
Lei who currently plays for La Liga side Espanyol sees his current contract expire at the end of the year and reports claim that he would like to remain at the club next season.
Espanyol are six points away from the safety zone as they face 11 matches with the La Liga league resuming at the weekend.
The 28-year-old was signed by Espanyol from Chinese Super League outfit SIPG in the January 2019 transfer window and his performances have continued to make a difference in the squad.
Lei has scored seven goals and provided one assist from 38 appearances across all competitions for Espanyol this season.
According to Pan Daily, the Chinese striker has not made any comments about making the switch to Wolves who continue to enquire about his services, however, if his club suffer relegation he might consider making the move to the Premier League to challenge himself.
Lei tested positive for Covid-19 in March but has since recovered and has been training with his teammates.
