Jan Oblak set a new LaLiga record by becoming the fastest goalkeeper to reach a century of clean sheets as Atletico Madrid smashed Osasuna 5-0 on Wednesday evening.
Oblak made history in the Spanish League after keeping his 100th clean sheet from just 182 appearances. The 27-year-old broke the record set by Miguel Reina, who managed the same feat but after 222 appearances. The Slovenian was delighted after setting the new record and admitted he was feeling sharp despite the recent break from football due to the spread of coronavirus pandemic.
"I'm feeling very good. It doesn't feel like we had a three-month break," he said.
"I'm feeling good in goal and I think the team is too. Maybe you could tell after the first game, but now we're improving and I hope we attack the upcoming matches like we did today. To be honest, I don't pay much attention to stats. I hear what people say. It's a nice milestone to reach but I hope it doesn't stay there!"
João Félix scored a brace, with Marcos Llorente, Yannick Carrasco, and Alvaro Morata grabbing each a goal to secure a 5-0 victory over the hosts Osasuna.
Madrid are currently fourth on the log with 49 points, 15 behind league leaders Barcelona.
