Newcastle United duo Andy Carroll and Javier Manquillo are close to signing new long-term deals according to head coach Steve Bruce.
United are keen to tie Carroll and Manquillo to the club with Bruce also confirming they've offered terms to out of contract Matty Longstaff.
"We’ve talked about a long-term contract with the three of them – that’s a contract for next season, not just to get through these last few games," he said at his pre-match press conference.
"We’ve had those talks with Andy, Manquillo and the young Longstaff as well. The talks are ongoing, but I believe it’s positive as far as Andy and Manquillo are concerned. I think it’s important that those players understand the situation, and we’ve tried to do that."
Carroll is due to become a free agent on June 30 with also Manquillo's deal set to expire at the end of the month.
