Stade Rennes President Nicolas Holveck, has revealed failing to land Mohammed Salisu due to the player’s ambitions for England.
Holveck has told the media that he had done everything but to force the 21-year-old Salisu who wants to head to the best league in football.
“Salisu is currently prioritizing the Premier League.Forcing a player despite agreements between clubs is something we don’t necessarily want to do,” the Ligue 1 Club president said in FootballGhana’s report.
“We have done everything to convince him, a priority, he would like to go to the Premier League. We want players who want to come. This is not a reproach to Salisu, who during our discussions, seemed very sincere.
According to unconfirmed rumours, the Real Valladolid central defender is being followed by the likes of Manchester United, Everton and Newcastle.
“He prefers an English speaking country. We’re not going to force people,” concluded Holveck.
