Newcastle United have reportedly registered their interest in Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst but face stiff competition from Arsenal as per Bild reports.
The publication claims that Wolfsburg are prepared to sell Weghorst in the summer, putting a price tag of €35million (£32million) for his signature.
The 27-year-old has enjoyed success at the club since joining them from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar; scoring 20 goals and providing five assists this season.
His form has certainly progressed in terms of finding the back of the net; last season he scored 18 goals and provided seven assists in the process.
Ideally, Arsenal will be in desperate need of strikers as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette find themselves out of contract in 2021 and Weghorst fits the bill.
It is yet to be seen which of the Premier League teams will manage to secure the Dutch international's signature in the summer.
