Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has joined the conversation surrounding Lionel Messi's future at Barcelona.
The French manager would want the Argentine to remain with the Catalan club as the league wants the best players.
This follows a report on Thursday that linked the superstar with a move away at the end of the 2020/21 season.
Messi has a year left on his contract with the Blaugrana, but reports indicate he has grown frustrated with the club's lack of a 'clear vision' and would consider an exit.
"I don't know what will happen but we hope not because he is in this league and we want the best in this league," Zidane said after the 1-0 win over Getafe on Thursday night. T
The win saw the Los Blancos move four points clear of their bitter rivals Barcelona, and a real shot at the LaLiga title with only five matches to go.
Captain Sergio Ramos once again delivered the goods for Zidane's men, converting a 79th-minute penalty after Dani Carvajal was brought down inside the box.
The win took them to 74 points while Barcelona are on 70 ahead of weekend fixtures.
Both sides will be in action on Sunday, with Messi and company traveling to face Villareal while the league leaders face Athletic Club.
