Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama started his second league game as Montreal Impact went down 3-4 to Toronto on Friday morning.
It was the second successive loss for the Thierry Henry coached side since the league resumption earlier in the month with the result leaving the side rooted at the foot of their group with no points.
In the game, Toronto took an eighth-minute lead through Laryea but Quioto levelled matters for the hosts six minutes later. Goals were not drying yet in the first half with Toronto regaining their lead through a double from Akinola in the 25th and 37th minute but Taider reduced the arrears for the homes die before the break.
On resumption, Akinola grabbed his hat trick seven minutes from time but there was still time left for another goal with Taider grabbing his second deep in stoppage time.
In Sweden, IF Elfsborg knew the importance of Kenyan defender Joseph Okumu after going down 6-0 at the hands of Hacken on Thursday.
Okumu missed the game with an injury with the player expected to be out for a period of two to three weeks; a setback that might see him miss games against Djugarden, Mjallby and Varberg.
