Liverpool keeper Loris Karius set for Ligue One move

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius is set to move to the French Ligue One with Montpellier said to be interested in the player.

According to Goal, Liverpool will demand a fee around £6million for the German keeper with the player already considered surplus to requirement by manager Jurgen Klopp.

The 27-year-old cancelled his two-year loan spell at Turkish side Besiktas in May where he had been on loan with the keeper having been in his native home since then; the player expected to join Liverpool when they converge for their preseason training ahead of the new campaign if they can’t find a club for him.

The tabloid reports that the French side wants Karius as a replacement for their current first-choice keeper Geronimo Rulli, who they loaned from Real Sociedad last summer and could sign for the Laliga side permanently.

Karius played 67 times across his two seasons in Istanbul but with Alisson the undisputed first-choice keeper at Anfield, and Adrian having impressed as the Brazilian backup, Liverpool has no reasons for keeping the German.

Liverpool signed Karius for £4.75million from Bundesliga side Mainz in 2016 and are keen to get a little profit for their player; the player having been linked with a move back to Germany too.
