Lee Addy on his first move to Europe after he left Ghana Premier League side Berekum Chelsea

Former Berekum Chelsea defender Lee Addy has revealed the ordeal he went through when he first arrived in Europe.

Addy made the move to Red Star Belgrade following his exploits in 2010 FIFA World Cup but only to arrive and be told he is not ready to play.

"I had played the World Cup in 2010, won the best defender in Ghana twice but when I got to Red Star Belgrade I was told I am not ready to play and needed more time.

"My first game was a derby and I was not invited to camp but later I was called to come and play. That first game I played I earned a contract in China because I played very well."

Addy has been capped 30 times for the Ghana national team - he is currently without a club.
