Gor Mahia defender Philemon Otieno has rubbished reports linking him with a move away from the club.
Otieno didn’t feature in the past season after undergoing surgery and with his contract with the club renewed before the coronavirus break, the former Ushuru FC midfielder has admitted that he was at Gor Mahia to stay.
“I don’t know where the reports are from. I just signed a new deal with the team just the other month and I don’t see any reason to leave now,” Otieno told Futaa.
On his preparedness for action, the player who slotted at right back for Harambee Stars in the 2019 African Cup of Nations said everything had gone on as planned and couldn’t wait to get back to the pitch.
“Its been long since I featured in a competitive game but I feel I am ready. It was hard to watch people play when I felt I could help but that is in the past now. I cant wait to get back and help the team once again,” Otieno added.
Gor Mahia is said to be on the verge of losing players with midfielder Boniface Omondi having crossed over to Wazito FC. Keepers Fredrick Onyango and David Mapigano has also left with Dickson Ambundo returning back to Tanzania.
