German giants Borussia Dortmund will allow fans back to the stadium in their first Bundesliga game of the season against Monchengladbach.
Bundesliga clubs had been given the green light to allow fans inside stadiums for the 2020-21 season with a specific capacity as the test to hosts a larger crowd later in the season continues.
As per the new guidelines, 20 per cent of the stadium can be used and strict hygiene requirements need to be followed.
Away fans will not be allowed to attend, though a game would be forced back behind closed doors if the infection rate in the home city is too high over a seven-day period.
In a Tweet, Dortmund said: “Saturday’s home match against Borussia Monchengladbach is set to be played in front of around 10,000 spectators.”
The new move is welcomed move for the league that was the first to resume in the 2019/20 season in May even though they were no fans allowed then.
Dortmund had finished at the second place in Bundesliga in the past season behind winners and arch-rivals Bayern Munich and will hope they can hit the ground running in their match slated for Saturday, September 19.
