Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed that a few players will be the leaving the club as he makes changes to his squad ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Mosimane and his technical team are currently in the process of talks with several players whom he feels have done their time at the club while also retaining the services of new players.
"I've given the list. I think we have acquired about 50 percent – I don't know if 50 percent is the right way to put it, but we've acquired a few guys that we want," Mosimane said via KickOff.
"And I have to wait for the club to announce them. I mean, we have to wait, and we have to release other players. You must understand, we are bringing in younger ones to support the senior players.
"Sometimes it gives the perception that we are taking out all the old players – no, it's not like that. We need [Hlompho] Kekana, we need Denis [Onyango], they are senior players, they drive the team.
"It doesn't mean now we're saying, 'Oh, by the way, how old are you? 31, 32, 33 – out!' No, we don't do that. Probably if you have not really been making the biggest contribution and you are at that age, yes [they have to be released]."
