Kenyan international Abud Omar has expressed his delight after sealing a move to Greek side PAE Ionikos.
Ionikos confirmed the capture of Abud on Monday and according to the player via Pepeta, he was glad to be back and was looking forward to helping the team achieve its goals.
“I feel very happy to wear the Ionian jersey. From the first moment the interest arose, I searched the internet and saw how important Ionikos is with a long history. I know that the club has a top organization and an administration that works hard to bring Ionikos to its natural position.
“My communication with the people of the club was excellent and I am happy to be here. May all that is happening worldwide with the coronavirus end soon and on my part, I am ready to work hard and help my team achieve its goals,” Aboud said.
Abud is returning to action for the first time since July 2019 when he left Romania side Sepsi OSK. Apart from Sepsi, Aboud European journey has seen him represent Belgium’s Cercle Brugge, Greece’ Peneggialios in and Bulgaria’s Slavia Sofia.
In Kenyan Premier League, the left-back has represented Bandari FC and Tusker FC and will hope active action will take him back to the national team after missing the team’s last assignments.
