Torino set to overtake West Brom for Algerian striker Islam Slimani's signature

Algeria international Islam Slimani could be leaving Leicester City following heavy links from Serie A outfit Torino according to reports.

Slimani enjoyed a season-long loan deal with Ligue 1 side Monaco during the 2019/20 season but a deal on a permanent basis failed to materialise and West Bromwich Albion stepped in to register their interest.

"I'm respectful to the clubs and I'm respectful to my players here,” Slaven Bilic said of the supposed links to Slimani.

"But the rumours are true, they are two that are on our list. Very quality players of course."

However, Torino have entered the race and are in the process of battling the Baggies to retain his services before the close of business.

The 32-year-old has since registered 13 goals and seven assists in 46 appearances across all competitions since he joined Leicester City from Sporting.
