Portuguese giants FC Porto are targeting a move for Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard before their window shuts.
Lingard has fallen out of favour at United and wants to move with the player having been linked with a move to Serie A giants AC Milan too; the club taking in Lingard’s teammate Diogo Dalot on a loan deal.
ESPN journalist Rob Dowson reported on Tuesday that Porto is showing an interest and believes United would be willing to offer the player on a loan deal.
27-year-old Lingard managed to force his way into United’s first-team plans during the 2015-16 season after a series of successful English loans included spells with Leicester City, Birmingham City and Derby County.
There had been earlier links to Spurs with Jose Mourinho said to be an admirer for the player though a deal couldn’t be struck as the North London club failed to offload Dele Alli.
The Portuguese market has yet to close with the deadline not scheduled until midnight tonight, however, there are still a few days left to conclude loan moves.
Selling Lingard should not be a trouble for United as they have a good working relationship the Portuguese side after acquiring the services of left-back Alex Telles on deadline day.
