Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has given an update on his injury after being stretched off the field while on international duty with Ivory Coast.
Baily who limping off during his country’s 1-1 draw with Belgium on Friday night said he was doing well and was taken off due to fatigue.
“Thank you for worrying about me but I’m doing well, it’s just fatigue. Goodnight to you all and God protect us. Congratulations to my team for the match against the team ranked first in the world by FIFA,” Bailly wrote on Instagram.
Bailly was forced off in the 70th minute of their international friendly to raise questions about his fitness ahead of his club’s clash with Newcastle United in the coming week.
United fans had called on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to drop Victor Lindelof and the manager did just that when he started Bailly in their last week heavy loss at the hands of Tottenham in what was the defender’s first Premier League start this season.
The former Villareal man has had issues with injuries and it is believed he picked a hamstring injury while on international duty; the injury escapades forcing him to four appearances for his club last season.
He has scored one goal in 89 games in all competitions for United since arriving at the club in a £30m deal from Villarreal five years ago.
