Ibrahimovic and Bale prepare to take EA Sports to court over unauthorized image rights

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gareth Bale have questioned how EA Sports acquired their image rights for the FIFA game series.

Both Ibrahimovic and Bale have thus sanctioned an investigation into the American company to provide legal answers and possibly take responsibility.

EA say they obtain licenses via FIFPro, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he is not a member; EA Sports launched FIFA 21 on October 6, the latest game in the franchise

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gareth Bale have called for an investigation into how EA Sports are allowed to use their image rights in the popular FIFA football video game series.

While EA have said they got the images rights via FIFPro, who are supposedly affiliated to the two players, both Ibrahimovic and Bale have denied any association with FIFAPro.

"I'm not aware of being a member of FIFPro and, if I am, I was put there without any real knowledge through some weird manoeuvre.

"And for sure I never allowed FIFA or FIFPro to make money using me. Somebody is making profit on my name and face without any agreement all these years. Time to investigate,” said the AC Milan striker.

Bale to say: "Interesting…. what is FIFPro?"

Will the two footballers’ lawyers eventually lay a case against EA Sports? Futaa will be closely following the events.
