Bayern Munich chief Oliver Khan has provided an update on the future of defender David Alaba who has been linked with a move away from the club.
Alaba is yet to sign a new deal with the Bundesliga giants despite his contract expiring in the summer and while the player is free to negotiate with any club of his choice from next month, he is expected to stay in the club for the rest of the season.
"We rolled out the red carpet for David Alaba and went to our limits. David and especially his advisor Pini Zahavi have not walked that red carpet. It looks like he's looking around. We have to accept that," Khan is quoted by the Daily Star.
On his side, Alaba has defended his decision not to sign a new deal with the Bavarian saying that he didn’t have enough time to decide last month.
"Seven days are not enough for me to decide, I told Bayern that immediately. We'd been traveling a lot, we've had away games, I told Bayern immediately that I wouldn't react," Alaba said.
The player has strongly been linked with a move to England with Man United believed to be the frontrunners for his signature.
