English Premier League giants Liverpool might make a move for Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.
Alaba has failed to ink a new deal with Bayern despite his contract expiring in the summer and has strongly been linked with a move to Real Madrid but according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool has contacted the agent of the player.
Alaba is free to sign a pre-contract this month with a club of his choice outside of Germany and it is believed that they are a chunk of teams who are ready to pounce on his services.
Alaba's versatility in defense is something that makes him attractive for his suitors and having graduated from Bayern’s academy, the team that will get his services will be having a player with the experience needed to win titles.
Liverpool is currently in the market for defenders following long-term injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez with Joel Matip, who has always been slotted as an understudy, also struggling with injury issues.
The 28-year-old had his former teammate Thoagoi Alacantara join The Reds in the summer on a four-year deal for £20 million, and the Spanish midfielder could help convince him about a move to Anfield.
