🇪🇬 “Salah was like Messi at Chelsea’s training” says former teammate

Mohamed Salah’s former teammate Filipe Luis has said he was pained to see the Egyptian leave London for Roma.

Salah joined Chelsea from Swiss giants FC Basel, before he hardly found opportunities to play under Jose Mourinho at The Blues.

The Egytian shined in Serie A to earn a move to Liverpool, where he became one of the first signings Jurgen Klopp made at Anfield.

While many Chelsea fans ridiculed Liverpool for singing ‘their reject’ for €42,00 m, Salah went on to become one of the Premier League’s greatest ever footballers with 118 goals and 45 assists in 187 games for the Reds.

Looking back at Salah before leaving Chelsea for Roma, former teammate Filipe Luis suggests the Egyptian was always destined for the very, very top.

“When he went (to) Fiorentina, I said: 'Why are you going, Momo? This is Chelsea.' And he said: 'I need to play.' I thought: 'This kid's good,’” Luis said via the Guardian, as reported by Soccer Laduma.

"He never went for money or to win more; he went to show he could play. In training, he was like Messi. Really, like Messi. Ask anyone,” concluded the 35-year-old Brazilian.
