FC Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman will block any attempt by the club to sign Man City striker Sergio Aguero.
Aguero will be leaving City in the summer as a free agent and while the Argentine has been linked with a series of clubs, there is growing speculation that Barca might go for the player if they fail to acquire the services of Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan.
Sport reports that the Dutch coach is sticking with his initial posture and does not want the 32 years old Argentine forward as he would rather bring in Memphis Depay from Lyon who will also be a free agent in the summer. Koeman believes that Depay will adapt faster to his methods since he has worked with him before at the national team level. Depay would also be more accepting of a bench role at times than Aguero.
But the arrival of either Depay or Aguero is independent of the club's desire to sign Erling Haaland with the Norwegian being Barcelona’s prime target in the summer though they face competition from Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Koeman needs a striker at the club after failing to replace Luis Suarez who moved to Atletico Madrid the last summer.
