Manchester United is yet to decided on a move for striker Erling Haaland owing to the future of Edinson Cavani.
United is said to be one of the teams interested in Halaand but the club is not ready to put the youngster on a higher salary if they will still have Cavani with them in the coming season.
The Express reports that United is however close to deciding whether they want to pursue with the future of Cavani set to be sorted before the end of the season.
United have been long term admirers of Halaand with the player having worked with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde; the rapport said to be an important factor if they are to move for the 20-year-old.
Before joining Dortmund, United was one of the clubs who have shown interest in the player with the Norwegian being one of the most in demand players in the coming window with Real Madrid and Barcelona said to be interested in his services.
United is however keen on keeping Cavani who has been in some decent form in the past month with United keen to trigger the player’s one-year extension clause.
