Newcastle United 0-2 Arsenal: Auba and Elneny on target as Gunners get a much-needed win

Arsenal got back on track with a 2-0 win over Newcastle at St James' Park, thanks to goals from Mohamed Elneny and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Within five minutes, Mohamed Elneny scored his first Premier League goal, before Aubameyang scored the Gunners' second goal halfway through the second half, marking his first start since April 3.

Newcastle had moved to within a point of statistical Premier League safety with a four-game unbeaten streak before Arsenal's visit to Tyneside, but they were utterly outplayed, recording only one shot on goal, before Fabian Schar's late dismissal aggravated Steve Bruce's side's miserable outing.

Arsenal's first league win in three games moves them up to ninth place, giving them a boost ahead of their Europa League clash with Villarreal on Thursday, although Newcastle remain in 17th place, nine points clear of the relegation zone with four games remaining.
