Former Liverpool and Chelsea FC striker Daniel Sturridge have insisted that he has not retired from football.
The Englishman last played in February 2020 when he featured for Turkish side Trabzonspor in their 2-2 draw with Besiktas; Sturridge having joined the team in August 2019 after the expiry of his contract at Anfield.
His time at the club was however cut short when he was handed a worldwide football ban for breaching betting rules. The four-month suspension led to the termination of his contract with Trabzonspor and he hasn't played since.
And now the Liverpool Echo reports that the player is ready to return to action after an impressive seven goals in 16 games in his last club.
