Zidane in no hurry to return to management

Frenchman Zinedine Zidane won't be in any hurry to return to management after leaving Real Madrid last month.

The Frenchman’s second spell in charge of Real Madrid ended at the end of last season and he has since been replaced by Carlo Ancelotti with Zidane leading the club to three Champions League titles and one La Liga crown in his first stint.

With his reputation, it was expected that some of the big clubs would be willing to have the coach but reports from Libertad Digital, the tactician will be taking his time before deciding on his next project.

The reports indicate that none of the European heavyweight clubs are currently looking to hire a manager, and Zidane will wait until the French national team job becomes available with rumors rife that France might appoint him if his 1998 World Cup-winning teammate Didier Deschamps doesn’t perform well with the team in the Euros.

France is one of the favorites to win the tournament having reached the final of the 2016 European Championships before winning the World Cup two years later under Deschamps.

If he performs, Deschamps is expected to lead France into the 2022 World Cup but could step down afterward, paving the way for Zidane to take over.
