AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has rated Ruben Dias as the likely best number five in the world.
Mourinho's views further suggest that Dias has become the best ahead of Liverpool's Virgil Van Djik and PSG's Marquinhos.
The former Manchester United and Chelsea boss mentioned Manchester City's Dias during his quick preview of Portugal's 2020 Euros opener against Hungary on Tuesday night.
"I think Ruben Dias is the best centre-back in the world now, maybe," Mourinho said as quoted by Goal.
"I would say that Ruben with this step to the Premier League is getting a different knowledge and experience of competitiveness.
Mourinho also took the moment to suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo can be expected to leave it all in the tournament as international retirement looms closer.
"I think he’s a fantastic centre-back. Lots of fantastic players in attack, Cristiano is not a kid anymore.
"I believe it is his last Euros and after being European Champion, he will try everything to succeed for the last time," he concluded.
