Barcelona have confirmed Jean-Clair Todibo will move to French side Nice on a permanent deal.
The 21-year-old spent the last few months of last season on loan at the French club, and they have decided to exercise their right to purchase the Frenchman for 8.5 million euros.
A statement from the club read;
"OGC Nice has reported to FC Barcelona that it shall exercise its right to purchase Jean-Clair Todibo, who has been playing on loan to the French club since the end of the 20/21 season.
"The operation is valued at 8.5 million euros, plus a further 7 million euros in variables. The Catalan club withholds a percentage on any future sale of the player.
"FC Barcelona wishes to publicly state its gratitude to Jean-Clair Todibo for his commitment and dedication and wishes him all the very best of success in the future,"
The French defender joined FC Barcelona during the 2018/19 winter transfer window and made his debut in week 32 against Huesca.
He also started the game at Celta in week 36, meaning he played a part in the 2018/19 league championship-winning campaign. For the second half of the 2019/20 season, Todibo went out on loan to Schalke 04.
He began the 2020/21 season at Benfica. In February, FC Barcelona and the Portuguese club agreed to end the loan deal and Jean-Clair Todibo went on loan to OGC Nice until June 30.
