Serie A giants AC Milan have begun talks with Manchester United over the possibility of signing defender Diogo Dalot on a permanent deal.
While Dalot rarely had game time at United, Milan changed that by making him their preferred right back last season where he capped his good campaign with a call up to the Portugal Euro 2020 team after representing their junior side where they made it to the finals of the Euros.
According to the Italian portal Calciomercato.com, Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara would like to bring back Dalot on a loan with an option to buy but United, on the other hand, wants it to be an obligation to buy worth no less than €18m.
Another obstacle for Milan is the fact that United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would like to evaluate Dalot during the pre-season before agreeing to a move with the Norwegian keen on having a proper backup at right-back that has been dominated by Aaron wan Bissaka.
Brahim Diaz will join AC Milan from Real Madrid on loan with buy option. Details: €25m buy option for AC Milan. Real will have a potential future re-buy clause for €30/31m. 🔴🇪🇸 #ACMilan @SkySport— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 27, 2021
Odriozola could be an option for AC Milan but Diogo Dalot is still the priority.
