Which EURO record does Renato Sanches hold?

Portugal might have been eliminated from the ongoing EURO 2020 tournament but they left their mark, serving football lovers with some scintillating attacking game.

Cristiano Ronaldo has, and was the starman for the Portuguese side, but was rivaled by one forgotten star; Renato Sanches.

The 23-year-old put in a solid performance against France in the last match of their group as they earned a 2-2 draw, and was at the heart of everything good as they fell to Belgium in the Round-of-16.

The midfielder shot to fame as a teenager and was one of the stars of the 2016 EURO tournament, where he left a mark, breaking two records.

The tournament arrived just weeks after the then 18-year-old had completed a big-money move to Bayern Munich from Benfica.

The youngster started and then scored in the quarter-final clash with Poland, breaking Cristiano Ronaldo's record as the youngest player to start for Portugal at a major tournament.

He then went one better and became the youngest player ever, to appear in a EURO final, aged 18 years and 328 days as Portugal shocked favourites France, winning 1-0.

He had a difficult start to life at Bayern and was later loaned to Swansea, before finding his footing at Lille, where he won the Ligue 1 last season and was rewarded with a call-up to the national team.

Could we be seeing a Sanches reborn in the coming seasons?
