Leonardo Spinazzola's Euro 2020 tournament seems over after the defender ruptured his Achilles tendon during Italy's 2-1 victory over Belgium on Friday.
Spinazzola, who played a crucial role in their 2-1 win against Belgium, stopping Romelu Lukaku from making it 2-2. However, minutes later, he went down injured and was stretchered off the field, covering his face in tears.
As reported by Sports Italia, the 28-year-old ruptured his Achilles tendon and could be on the sidelines for some months.
Leonardo Bonucci's early goal was canceled after he was judged offside, however, Nicolò Barella gave Italy a deserved lead after 30 minutes of play.
Lorenzo Insigne then doubled Italy's lead but Romelu Lukaku reduced the deficit just before halftime, scoring from the spot. It was an exciting second half with Italy holding on to advance to the last four of the Euro 2020.
