Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta has insisted that striker Romelu Lukaku will not be sold this summer.
The Belgian has been linked with a return to the Premier League with Man City and Chelsea all said to be interested but according to Marotta, in an interview with Sportmediaset ahead of a friendly with Pergolettese, the player is an important piece in their team.
"From our side, we can yes absolutely, Lukaku is not for sale. Lukaku is an important piece on the chessboard available to Simone Inzaghi," he said.
Lukaku was an important figure at Inter in their title-winning season where he scored 24 goals in 36 games for the Nerazzurri last season.
The departure of Antonio Conte however is said to be something that didn't impress the player with a section of the players wanting to leave the club following the move.
Conte is said to have disagreed with Inter bosses over transfers with the Italian having wanted to add a series of players to help him fight for the Champions League; something the club wasn't willing to provide due to their financial constraints.
