🤔 What Haaland lacks and what Mbappe has, Dortmund legend explains

A former Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League winner believes Erling Haaland is a super talent but is not world class yet.

Haaland enjoyed a rocket rise as one of the best players in the world, thanks to his prodigious 57 goals in 59 appearances during his first season with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga and UCL, aged 20.

However, Jurgen Kohler, feels the Norwegian still has a bit more to add to his game as a world great striker.

"He's not yet a world-class player. He's a top striker and has all the skills to do so, but he still has to prove that," he told Ruhr Nachrichten.

"He's missing that certain extra class out of nowhere. At 21 he has already come so far. That is extraordinary. I am sure that he will always find tools so that he cannot be stopped. With experience comes world class.

The German took the moment to use PSG's Kylian Mbappe, 22, as an example of world class level and depth.

"Kylian Mbappe has the greatest potential. I see him more as a world-class footballer, because he doesn't just rely on speed. What does he do? Short hooks, short ball control – Mbappe doesn't do anything rash," Kohler finished off.

Meanwhile, Haaland is expected on the grass as Dortmund takes on Italian minnows Bologna in a preseason friendly this Friday.
