Man City set to fall short of Aston Villa’s valuation for Grealish

Manchester City is expected to fall short of Aston Villa's British record valuation for midfielder Jack Grealish.

Grealish has strongly been linked with a move to City this summer but Villa are expected to stand their ground on the demands they want a British-record fee of at least £100m for the player.

Daily Mail reports that City is expected to make an opening bid of £75m to sign the player but it is something that Villa will reject; the club is set to hand their captain a new deal if they cant a right offer from any team.

While Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of the player after his brilliant outing in Euro 2020, the money is said to be way above what they expect as they are in the hunt for striker Harry Kane too who should cost much more than his England teammate.

Villa's stance might see City withdraw their interest and work with the midfielders at their disposal but with the likes of Raheem Sterling said not to be happy at the club, Guardiola might look for cheaper options elsewhere.

Grealish, who has been on holiday in Mykonos with his England teammates, signed a new contract at Villa in September after being courted by Manchester United.
