Premier League side Newcastle United have been handed the chance to sign Real Madrid star Mariano Diaz.
The 28-year-old is unwanted at the Spanish club and the club is willing to sell him in order to raise funds for some of their targets with Carlo Ancelotti said not to be having the player in his plans next season.
According to Jeunes Footeux, the Magpies who need attacking reinforcement, are keeping tabs on the player, but he is not a priority target for them.
Mariano has scored just six goals in his last three seasons and has struggled for a regular game time despite enjoying a prolific year with Lyon before joining Madrid.
The player himself feels he needs to join a club that can give him more game time as he seeks to regain his sharpness and confidence with a move to St. James Park said to be perfect for his growth.
He can play anywhere across the frontline, and his versatility would be extremely handy for the Magpies. The Steve Bruce side was overly reliant on Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson last season, while Joelinton failed to live up to expectations.
Bruce feels that he needs to ease the burden on the duo and feels that the addition of Mariano will give them an extra threat against Premier league opponents.
